Gwyneth (“Gwyn”) Ayers
Gwyn Ayers has been a lawyer in Boulder County for 11 years. She has litigated numerous civil and criminal trials and hearings. Ms. Ayers is also a seasoned appellate attorney. She has drafted over 200 appellate briefs and has argued before the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Seventh Circuit U.S. District Court in Chicago. Additionally, Ms. Ayers is well-versed in transactional law, providing legal representation in the areas of municipal law, contracts, real estate, estate planning, and probate. Ms. Ayers appears regularly in the Boulder County District and County courts.
Ms. Ayers recognizes that the legal process is difficult for many of her clients. Ms. Ayers works to ensure that her clients' experience with the legal system involves integrity, respect, and compassion.
Ms. Ayers believes that the best way to serve her clients is to continually enhance her knowledge and experience through education and practice. Throughout her legal career, she has embraced the opportunity to learn from other seasoned attorneys.
Gwyn received her law degree, with honors, from the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder in 1997, where she was the sole Editor and writer of the law school alumni magazine, the Amicus. Ms. Ayers also participated in moot court, made the Dean's List, and received the Samuel and Francis Dazzo scholarship.
After receiving her law degree, she clerked for the Hon. William L. West, Chief Judge of the 19th Judicial District. As a law clerk, Ms. Ayers observed and participated in the inner workings of the court process, an experience that gave her keen insight into the judicial decision-making process.
Prior to opening Ayers Law Firm, P.C. in 2004, Ms. Ayers worked for several AV-rated law firms, including Wernle, Ristine & Ayers, LPC (Indiana), French & Stone, P.C. (Boulder), Samson, Pipis & Marsh, LLC (Longmont), and Grant, Grant & Goiran, LLC (Longmont). While working for these firms, Ms. Ayers learned from highly skilled attorneys in a variety of areas of practice, including but not limited to civil and criminal litigation, appellate law, civil rights law, real estate law, commercial and business law, and family law.
Through her connections with these firms, Ms. Ayers has worked with and for many other highly skilled attorneys and has utilized every opportunity to learn from them.
Ms. Ayers is President of the Ayers Law Firm and also currently serves as "Of Counsel" to Wernle, Ristine & Ayers, LPC of Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Prior to law school, Ms. Ayers received a degree in music performance (violin) and journalism from Indiana University. Ms. Ayers worked as a freelance musician and journalist in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Colorado in 1994.
Ms. Ayers is active in Boulder County musical arts organizations, and has served as a violinist and board member of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra, a violinist with the Boulder Chamber Orchestra and Westminster Symphony, and a board member of the Longmont Youth Symphony.
Ms. Ayers supports animal rights organizations in the community and has donated both time and money to Every Creature Counts, a no-kill animal shelter in Lyons, Colorado, and to the Longmont Humane Society. In addition, Gwyn has donated her services for silent auctions benefitting the Longmont Humane Society.
Ms. Ayers lives in Longmont, Colorado, with her husband and their menagerie of rescued animals.
